As parents and caregivers, it's important to provide a safe and stimulating environment for your child to play and learn in. The PlayTRAY is a great tool for encouraging creativity and exploration, but it's important to keep safety in mind. These guidelines are designed to help you ensure that your child is playing safely with the PlayTRAY, and that the contents of the tray are age-appropriate and suitable for your child. By following these guidelines, you can help ensure that your child is having fun while staying safe.
- Always supervise your child while they are playing with the PlayTRAY. This will help ensure that they are safe and not putting anything in their mouth that they shouldn't be.
- Consider the age appropriateness and suitability of the contents you are placing in the PlayTRAY for your child. Some items may be too small or too large for a young child, or may contain small parts that can be a choking hazard.
- Check for any allergies your child may have before placing any contents in the PlayTRAY. Some children may be allergic to certain materials or substances, so it's important to know what to avoid.
- Do not use sharp objects in the tray. These can be dangerous for children and can cause injury.
- If your child is mouthing items, ensure that they are not a choking hazard. Any items that can fit through a toilet roll tube should be avoided.
- Do not leave your child unattended by water. Water play is fun, but it can also be dangerous.
- Clean the PlayTRAY and its contents regularly, to avoid the growth of bacteria, mold or other harmful microorganisms.
- Avoid using any toxic materials, paints, dyes or other chemicals in the PlayTRAY.
- Keep in mind that children develop at different rates and it is important to adjust the contents of the PlayTRAY accordingly.
- Be mindful of the temperature of the contents in the PlayTRAY, especially if your child is likely to put the contents in their mouths.
- Lastly, always encourage your child to play creatively and explore their environment in a safe way, and have fun!

What is the PlayTRAY made of?
The PlayTRAY is made from BPA-free, phthalate-free, FDA & LFGB food-safe ABS plastic. It has silicone feet on both the shallow and deep trays, and a silicone seal around the lid.
How is the PlayTRAY packaged?
The PlayTRAY will be packaged in a cardboard box. All boxes can be fully recycled.
Is the PlayTRAY safe for children to use?
The PlayTRAY has been thoroughly safety tested to comply with international toy safety standards. It carries the CE and the new UKCA safety marks. We do ask that you supervise your child carefully when playing with activities in the PlayTRAY, particularly if they involve water or materials that could be a choking hazard.
What age do you recommend the PlayTRAY for?
The PlayTRAY is tested & certified for use from birth. It is designed to be used by children of all ages, with the shallow tray being ideal to start using with younger ones before graduating to the deeper tray. As always, we ask that you please consider the age-appropriateness of the activities you set up in the PlayTRAY and supervise play at all times.
How can I use my PlayTRAY?
The PlayTRAY is designed to be used for all sorts of sensory play, sand, water & craft activities and we can't wait to see the activities you set up! It is made from high quality ABS plastic, but we recommend not overfilling your tray, particularly if you intend to move the tray afterwards.
The PlayTRAY can be used on the table-top or the floor. We do not recommend leaving it outdoors for long periods of time, as you may start to see some weathering and discolouration of the plastic over time.
The inside surface of both trays and the compartments have a gloss finish, enabling them to be used with most dry-wipe pens (please test first). The PlayTRAY is freezer safe.
How do I care for my PlayTRAY?
The PlayTRAY can be cleaned using hot, soapy water and is dishwasher safe up to 60 degrees. Do not clean in a UV dishwasher. Anything higher than this may damage the tray. Please do not use any solvents as these may also damage the PlayTRAY.
ABS plastic was chosen due to its stain resistant properties and it has undergone rigorous testing with the use of food colouring (Wilton brand), sand, play dough and other commonly used play resources.
However, please bear in mind that it is white and in particular that some paint products may stain it. Read the instructions of your paint products carefully and test on an inconspicuous area first.
You may also find that some colours of jelly may stain your tray. We recommend using gelatine and a bit of food colouring instead.
When using the PlayTRAY for really messy activities and crafts we recommend cleaning it straight afterwards to keep it looking its best.
