Who is The Natural Play Makeup Company?

The founder Kitty and mum of two started her business after being inspired by her daughters. Her 5-year-old came home from a play date with neon pink cheeks and bright red lipstick and a request for her very own makeup selection. Kitty then started looking at children's makeup available at the time but along the line, she discovered that the play makeup in the UK was full of lots of known irritants, toxins and other harsh chemicals. Concerned by the chemicals and ingredients in the “child-friendly” makeup online, Kitty wanted to create something that was truly safe for children. She wanted products that she felt comfortable putting on her daughter's face. And so the Natural Play makeup company was born.

Kitty made it her mission to create natural non-toxic makeup allowing little ones to play creatively and imaginatively without damaging their delicate skin. Natural Play Makeup is hypoallergenic and made with carefully selected ingredients formulated just for young children and it's made right here in the UK. They’re committed to only using natural ingredients that are gentle on the skin without any harsh chemicals, whilst following strict safety standards.  Natural Play Make-up’s mineral eyeshadows, blushers and lipsticks are free from - Parabens, Talc, Nano Particles, Fragrances, SLS, Petrochemicals, Ferric Ferricyanide, Phthalates, FD & C Colours & Dyes and PEG's. Instead created with simple formulations and subtle colours, produced with children’s delicate skin in mind.

The Concept of Play Makeup

Children often express themselves in many ways but in particular, they love to copy and imitate parents, siblings, friends etc. They see their older siblings or parents putting on, and playing with makeup and they might be curious. They might want to play dress up like mummy or daddy, and do their makeup like their older sibling.  But most of us are concerned with putting those harsh chemicals on our children's faces, even if it just be for a small game of role-play. You want safe, non-toxic, natural products for their skin.
